Hey everyone had another lesson on thursday, and i am really enjoying it :).
So im still learning the rising and sitting trot, but im feeling much more confident and relaxed on the horse. My instuctor Abbie is so encouraging and she gives me huge confidence in things that im nervous about. I was riding chocolate again and he's just a star!
I am so glad that i started riding but i only wish i started when i was younger lol!

The third lesson
Hey again!
So thursday i had my third lesson which is my most recent one and i have just been writing about the previous one's i have had.
This lesson was a little mainly becasue i rode a different horse called Chocolate who is 22 years old, im not sure about his height maybe around 15hh.
Chocolate who is slightly curvier than Jasper as Abbie pointed out to me i dont mind a wider horse though so its cool. This lesson was mainly sitting and rising trot again but i was learning not to hold onto the saddle as much and try holding onto the reins more. But i think im definatly improving on my rising trot and feeling much more comfortable and confident with doing it... but still a little bouncy at times.
Chocolate also decided to break into canter with me a couple of times which was a little surprising but very fun, and Abbie commented on how im must be a well balanced rider as he doesnt really do that often lol :) ....i loved it though and cant wait for my proper canter to start!!!
I also decided to purchase some chaps and paddock boots before my third lesson and im glad i did as i feel much more comfortable. I will post an picture of my boots and chaps very soon!
Take care x

The second lesson
Hey everyone so now i have had my second lesson, i couldnt wait until we begang i arrived at the yard about 20 mins before my lesson.
My second lesson was only half an hour and was a private lesson as thats all they do which i am happy with.
So we began with trotting with me standing up in my stirrups and holding onto Jaspers mane. This was to help gradually strengthen my legs and also help me get use to the 1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2 beat of the horse moving. I really liked that....felt a little like a jockey :)
Mainly this lesson was focused on sitting and rising trot and practising the transitions between. I felt a little more confident and was starting to find the beat easier to get use to, very excited for the next lesson.

The first lesson
Hey guys so i thought i would fill you in about my first ever horse riding lesson.
So i have started having lesson at Stockbridge Riding School in Wiltshire. I had previously walked aound the stables and observed a couple of lessons. The horses are absolutly beautiful and very well looked after. They currently have 19 horses for schooling and i know they offer a full livery aswell but im not sure how many horses they have for that part.
Anyway for my first lesson i had a hour which costs £60...i know its expensive but obviously its a private lesson and the tuition is amazing.
My first lesson was with a lovely gelding ....(i think) called Jasper! He's abot 14.2hh and hes 27 years old. He's taught many people over the years to ride and he is just generally a lovely gorgeous horse to ride. My instructor Abbie is lovely and very encouring...she actually showed me and mum around the stables.
So in my first lesson i got use to the walk, but mainly it was balancing myself on Jasper and getting myself feeling more comfortable. Then on we went onto trotting, i was pretty nervous but it wasnt too bad ...i was quite bouncy though lol. She did say that i picked it up well in the first lesson though which was really encouraging. Then we started doing the sitting trot which i felt was a bit better, i was on a lounge line so i felt safe with Abbie and could concentrate on my sitting and rising trot.
Then we without the lounge line i started to practise steering, moving off and stopping the orse which was easy.
Overall i absolutly loved it, and i will definatly be carrying on.

About Me :)
Hey everyone im Ceri from the UK :)
I have always loved horses and admired their beauty and elegance, i think they are just stunning and wonderful creatures.
So anyway i finally decided to start having riding lessons at the age of 21. I know it may seem fairly late as many people start riding much earlier, but i never really had the chance or funds to start earlier.
So this blog is about me finally riding and my journey along the way and seeing where it takes me, and i hope you enjoy it :)
